January in Big Bend

Images of Big Bend and Terlingua: January in South Texas was warm except for the last day and night when it turned 19 degrees that night.  Beautiful country.

Holden's First Birthday

3 months ago Holden turned 1!  I am a little bit late posting.  My boy is so smart and handsome. The cowboy hat is his Woody hat from Toy Story.  Here's my other smart and handsome boy.

Houston/San Antonio

Robben, Holden, and I went to Houston to see Maggie, Steve, and Stephanie who was home from Australia for a visit.  We had a great time.  Steph and Steve rode in a bike race The MS 150.  San Antonio has so much history such as the Alamo.  The river walk is a sight to see. Holden loved the children's museum in Houston.

Arizona

We went to Arizona in August on the motorcycle. VERY HOT, but lots of fun.  Stayed at an old hotel in Gallup, New Mexico built in 1937.  Movie stars stayed there to make the old westerns.  Saw huge sagaros in Arizona.  Went to Tombstone and explored the town and Boot Hill.  Walked where the Earps and Doc Holiday did.

Chaco Canyon

Had to go back to Chaco one more time.  Of course found at least one more ruin to go to so we'll have to go back   Chaco is so amazing.  Makes you want to jump in your time machine.

Favorite Places

Kips Grill in Creede
I loved the bird.
The Flora Dora Saloon in Telluride and our bike
On the road
My guy
Heaven Pass (Black Canyon of the Gunnsion)
Lynn's feeling stronger everyday and is very upbeat and positive. We decided that time was being wasted so off we went to Ouray, Silverton, and many other places for a 3 day weekend on the motorcycle.  In Ouray, we feasted at the Outlaw on steaks, in Silverton, Bloody Marys for brunch at The Grand Imperial, and Mimosas in Creede at Kips Grill. The weather was great with a little bit of rain.

Lynn is my hero and has always has been. He is facing Luekemia with a great spirit.  He's such a strong person

29th Wedding Anniversary

Lynn felt strong enough to ride to Taos for our anniversary. It was a great ride with beautiful weather.  Can't wait to ride again.

Father's Day

Robben, Zak, and Holden invited us to join Peter and Libby at the Rockies game for Father's Day.  Yah I know that I am late, but better late than never so they say.  I really do like baseball althought I don't keep up with it since living in Texas and following the Rangers.  Holden was such a good little boy surrounded by those whom love him the most.  He was yeahing with the crowd which was so adorable.

Catching up

.               Holden

As most of you know, it's been a hard 6 months with Lynn being diagnosed with Luekemia CLL, but things are going very well ( if you can say that about getting chemo).  Two to three more so we are halfway there.  He's making his own red blood cells so that means no more transfusions.  Also, I turned 60.  We hooked back up with Richard and Robben during this time and that's been great.   Dave and Liz have been close as well , so thanks for great friends.  Little Robben, Zak, and Holden are great.  My sister Maggie came to visit and to cheer me up.

Easter

Easter was spent with all the Georges at Robben, Zak, and Holden's home. Holden's teething and he likes to chew on the empty pill bottle. We had a great time with good food and company.

New Year's

We decided the safest place to go and party on NYE was Cripple Creek, because you could drink and walk back to the room. The melodrama was really good with the Olio, musical review afterwards the play, was great. I laughed so hard at the Olio especially when the actors did a white trash Christmas. We ate afterwards in the room with a hotel picnic. The Imperial was built in 1885 and is haunted by Crazy Alice and others. The room rate was more than doubled for NYE, but there was a bottle of champagne in the room. We did make it until 12 to watch the ball drop. Later on I woke up and heard sounds in the night. Crazy Alice? 49 cent breakfast at Bronco Billy's and bloody mary's and home we went to make black eyed peas and cornbread for good luck. We took down lights and decorations and mourned the end of the holidays.
