Christmas 2009

I am sitting here thinking about Christmas and all the good fortune, family, and friends that I have. I am lucky to have Lynn who loves me takes care of me. Good health is something that I am very grateful for. My little grand baby Holden, Robben, and Holden are a treasure to us. If nothing else, we raised a caring and good person.
Christmas Eve was at our house with friends and all the Georges. Christmas day was spent at Libby and Peter's (Zak's parents). Simon, Jenni, and Laynie George were here from New Hampshire to celebrate with all of us. Saturday, more fun and food at Terri and Sharon Shaw's home. Lynn told me that he lost 3 pounds during the holidays so I punched him. Not really. I am afraid to get on the scales. I even baked this holiday which is getting off the subject, but I had to add that. The rice pudding didn't go over at all, but oh well.
Hope everyone is safe, happy, and healthy. More in the new year!!!!

Thanksgiving

The Pitmans and Georges had a great time at Thanksgiving. Lynn and I love to present the feast. Lynn fried a ymmy turkey. Holden didn't get any, but maybe next year? Like Killer with the flintlock gun. Nothing says Thanksgiving like alcohol, fire arms, and deep fried turkey. Aren't both of my babies pretty.

Halloween 2009

Halloween was terrific with Dave and Liz in Cripple Creek at the haunted Imperial Hotel. We began by getting our costumes on. Liz looked hot in her french maid. Dave was a old hippy and looked like he had never left the 60's. Lynn was handsome as a gambler kind of like Kenny Rogers. Well, I guess I was an aged dance hall girl. We gambled for a while after we got there Lynn won back the $20 dollars I lost as well as his $20. Dinner was in the hotel restaurant which was super. (Thanks, Dave). The Halloween melodrama at the Butte Opera House was one of the best with the Olio (musical review) following the melodrama even better. Afterwards, I lost the $20 again, and Lynn lost his again. Dave seemed to be right there with the two of us on profit. Liz had the golden touch, winning. We went back to the room for cocktails and bed. Disappointingly, none of the resident ghosts, George and Crazy Alice, came to visit us during the night. Maybe next time. Breakfast in the morning and home again. Thanks for the great weekend and good friends.

Holden

Just some pictures of the little man.

Initials

Lynn put our initials on an aspen tree near St. Elmo almost 30 years ago When Robben came he put hers. Then 3 years ago, he put 25 years beside it. LP + CC = RP Hers didn't show up as well. Her's are at the bottom.

One more adventure

Back to Utah and more ruins and hiking. Couldn't have asked for better weather. Cool nights and warm days. Going down to the Citadel Ruin I got scared and let my mind take over, because of a narrow ledge or lack of a ledge which made me chicken out. I felt really stupid when I looked down from the top and saw a 7 year old with his family including Grandma and her 2 walking sticks at the ruin. This time we used a rope to get to 3 of the ruins that we visited. (I am becoming more adapt at a rope and trusting my legs while Lynn has always been a mountain goat.) Moonhouse was one of those that needed a rope. It was probaly one of the most intact and amazing ones that we have seen. We explored Butler Wash this time and saw one ruin that had been huge and the most beautiful and intricate rock art panel on the cliff wall called Wolf Man. We camped out and slept in the back of the cruiser except for one night when we smelled so bad that we went to a motel in Bluff. Utah's funny about drinking. No bars. State run liquor stores with limited operating hours. You have to go to a restaurant and order food to order a drink. Most serve only beer and wine. We had a great time and want to go back soon.

Grammy's little Boy

I put this on Face Book, too. Holden is so cute when he cries and so irrestible as well. His little lip quivers, and he has such a sad look on his face. You just have to kiss and hug my pretty little boy. You can't tell that I love that little guy. Maybe he will have curly hair like his Grampy. Robben is such a good mom and Zak is a good Dad. He's a very lucky little man.

Goodby Summer

an 1880's one room school

After Holden was born, we went on the last motorcycle trip of the summer. Eastern Utah was our destination since we have not done any adventures there. Lynn's driving ability never ceases to amaze me when we go on a trip. The weather and the views were gorgeous. We stayed in some really funny 1950's motels with weird color schemes. Thank you, Lynn for loving me and putting up with me cause I know I can be a pain. The trip was wonderful as always with my Pit. Together Forever. Can't wait until next summer and more adventures on our bike.

June and Anniversary

June the 26th was our 28th anniversay. I always decorate his little blue truck a holiday. Lynn usually forgets that I do that. I put 28 pictures of myself with something written on it.

Andrew

Andrew came to visit us. He just graduated with a Master's from Columbia and will be joining the Peace Corp for a 2 year stint in Togo, Africa. The whole family is so proud of him! We did some tourist type stuff: the Manitou Incline, Barr Trail, Mueller State Park, and Cave of the Winds. I was so glad to see him. He's going to Blog his adventures in Africa so I'll post a link when he starts.

Shower

Last Sunday was the baby shower. Robben got lots of pretty things for Baby G. I painted monkeys on the wall for her. I could have done better I think, but they are OK. Next weekend the pig roast at Robben and Zak's.

motorcycling

A video from the ride that we did with Greg and Margot on a 3 day trip. Great time with the Pitman Posse.

Texas

We went to Texas for my parents 60th wedding anniversary last weekend. Robs and Zak took their car and we rode with them. The party was also for Rae and Tony, their wedding shower. Maggie put the party on at the Pelican restaurant with great food and fun. A friend, Judy, that I have known since I was 5 came, and it was great to see her and her husband after 26 years. Zak had a great time since he did the 3 things he wanted to do: wild pig hunting, Texas BBQ, and swimming.

Anniversary

On June 26th we celebrated our 28th wedding anniversay by going on a motorcycle trip to Taos and Silverton. We had champagne and Lota Burgers in the motel room. On the way to Silverton, Lynn surprised me with a side trip to Chimney Rock Archeology Park to see the ruins. The next night we stayed at the Grand Imperial which is over 100 years old and ate at Romero's. I can't wait for 28 more.
